I just came back from my hometown *sigh* wish I could have stayed for more

Several people have been asking me about what's going on in Greece since Saturday. First of all I want to say that I'm okay, safely far from the riots and none of my family is severely hurt.

With the murder of a provoking but innocent 15 year old as an excuse, tons of riots broke out in Athens and other big Greek cities since the night of the 6th of December.

The usual supsects, burned -along with other things- small businesses which were obviously owned by common people like you and me who tried to earn their living. I of course agree that the murder of the kid is inexcusable and should be condemned and the cop who shot the bullet must rot in prison but the actions of those supposedly defenders of rights and justice are equally inexcusable. The centre of Athens lies in ruins at the time being. Thousands of franchise shops have been destroyed. I've seen with my own eyes a video of a child, 15 years old, like the one whose murder began all these, showering an old man with gasoline and trying to set him on fire. That was done why? To avenge the murdered kid? Exactly how? By burning alive another person and destroying the fortunes of thousands of people who have no other means of earning their living? Well done. That's a brilliant way of thinking. You're obviously so much better than the Greek Police.

And this is not the first time these people burn down fortunes, shops and cars owned by people who are simple not rich as I'm not rich and they're not rich. When I come dear "Anarchist" (who probably have know idea what Anarchy is in the first place) and burn down the shop of your father that was obtained through major pains in the butt and 45789 mortgags and rips his heart out every day to keep the shop alive (3 out of 4 small businesses in Greece shut down after a while- including MY shop for example) and that little shop is the one that practically FEEDS you, to "avenge" the police/society/government/capitalism/authority because a FUCKTARD cop decided to kill a 15 year old in cold blood, then I don't achieve ANYTHING. At all. Think about it before you go out on the streets and fuck everything up. A bit of thinking never hurt anyone.

I don't know if these people are those known-unknown hood-wearing hooligans that we have learnt (wrongly) to call anarchists instead of vandals or some screwed in the head asshat that found an excuse to fap on other people's money or even government/police/society/whatever paid bastards to wreak so much havoc so as to enrage the civilians and turn them against the real anarchists and/or the government. We obviously aren't ever going to find out. WHat I knowis that thousands of people are now left without a job. As if the economy wasn't fucked up already. And that not one of those really cared for the dead kid.

I also want to say that it is one thing to be a bastard pig cop like the one who shot the kid and nother to be a policeman. Generalising and categorising people like that is sick. My brother in law is a policeman. His clothes and hair and skin are covered in red paint, old eggs and spoiled yogurt. Lif's cousin  works in an embassy and was trying to leave from his work to go home and avoid the riots when he was struck by a molotov bomb in the face causing him burns on the face hands and hair and falling down 20 stairsteps, breaking his knee. HOW THE HELL is my family in fault of anything? How the hell am I a fascist because I say that what's going on just isn't right? How does setting myself against the burning of the greek flag, for which thousands were killed to reclaim, makes me a fascist? How on earth do you avenge the death of a kid by looting shops down town?

I voted for this govenrment. I'm happy with how they handle things but at the moment I'm very annoyed that Karamanlis didn't grab the chance to remove the university and governing sanctuary. It is the stupidest statute ever just because those dicks go and burn everything in the university and then claim sanctuary cover. They burned down the Uni Library in my hometown. Extremely valuable manuscripts were lost. They burned the Archaeological museum in AThens... At the moment I feel deeply ashamed for being a greek.

I'm deeply disgusted with all these but most of all with the misinformation and the Media's propaganda againt the police and the government that has been going on for over 30 years. I just hope this ends soon and that no other lives or fortunes are lost.

I have now proceeded into admiting to myself that I feel crap with a reason. Or reasons.

- Tri caught my head cold.
- In the last 10 months I took two major decisions. One was thought thoroughly the other wasn't. I regret both.
- My weight acts like a yoyo, making me a nervous wreck. I don't mind being fat but please just decide to stay put? <_<
- Due to several issues I had the most miserable 1 year wedding anniversary one could have.

Apart from that I have a wonderful husband and son.

I will now advance on crawling to a corner and play emo for a while.
